In the framework of the implementation of the Localization Capacity Strengthening (LCapS) project, funded by USAID, a significant milestone has been reached. A comprehensive assessment using the Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool (OCAT) was conducted with a sample of 212 local organizations.
This evaluation seeks to identify both the strengths and weaknesses of these organizations. The insights gained will be instrumental in designing targeted capacity-building initiatives. These efforts aim to empower local actors, enhance organizational effectiveness, and ultimately boost community resilience.
The OCAT findings serve as a foundation to align local efforts with USAID’s broader Localization policy, which emphasizes shifting leadership and ownership to local partners. Through this initiative, the LCapS project is laying the groundwork for more sustainable development outcomes by building robust, self-reliant organizations at the community level.
Stay tuned for more updates on how LCapS is transforming local capacities and fostering impactful partnerships for development.
